iBOT report on Dateline NBC
right now, in NYC (channel 4).
At the moment they stopped for commercials but they will tell more about the FDA tests; John Hockenberry "competed" with DK in the previous segment. JH used his conventional wheelchair, DK used the iBOT. They did not give the anticipated date for the full FDA approval, but it is probably quite near; the price, Stone Phillips said, will be 30thousand dollars. The iBOT can be obtained only through a doctor's recommendation. http://dateline.msnbc.com has more, here: http://www.msnbc.com/news/950639.asp http://www.neuroprosthesis.org/blogger.html |

that's the approximate transcript. They actually give the anticipated date (August 11) in the article. Perhaps somebody can still record it - I caught it just in time to watch, but that's why I reported immediately! - I have not found the video yet. I have the link to the original John Hockenberry - Dateline 1999 presentation. I will publish it here in a moment. Here: that one still has the link to the video. http://www.msnbc.com/news/285231.asp Quote:

msnbc always gives an 866 phone number at the end of Dateline that we could call for transcripts or for segments of their programs.
As for hosting the video segments online ... I think we would need to ask for their permission. I am sure they would not mind us exchanging home-recorded segments with each other, but I don't think we could just post them on the Internet without their approval. Quote:

I watched the video -- it seems to be the one that must have accompanied the posted transcript.
Brought tears to my eyes. Hubbah |
