Bravo!
Wow, what a beautiful website. More than a couple times with the video I had the distinct feeling I was right there with you. If I couldn't have a Segway for christmas, you have given me the next best thing. Thank you! Happy riding! |

Great job!
With my 56K modem it will take me awhile to explore your site fully, and then you'll probably change it 5 times before I get through it. No problem though, keep up the good work. |

Excellent job on the site pt. In spite off all that I have read about the Segway your personal account was still very interesting. I havent gone through everyting yet though.
There are somethings on your site that I will try to get a discussion on here. |

Absolutely brilliant. Well done, pt (and fg!)!
Especially like the pics of the innards, gears, etc. Takes it from in-the-box magic to darn fine engineering. Your site will sell more units than Segway's! |

I can't help but wonder about the activation ring. Not having seen a Seg, I had a picture in my mind of putting the key in a keyhole similar to a car. How is the key used to activate the Seg, that a ring will also work?
Now I am picturing something similar to a ring a person might wear that would allow only that wearer to fire a gun. These exist also but I haven't seen one. Looks like Google time again. |

the "ring" is something i made, i happen to like the idea of wearable security.
the "keys" are just a metal disc with a chip inside, you place it in a recessed area for about a sec, and then remove it- the unit turns on (provided it's your key) and then you're good to go. here's a video that has the key: http://www.bookofseg.com/videos/keys.wmv cheers, pt Quote:

OK, my wife has a key to the ATM machine she is responsible for, and it looks identical to the Segway key on your site. Now that she has explained its operation I realize it is only used momentarily to activate the lock. That being the case, I understand how the ring will work. Nice idea.
