Default Concept: SEGG

Was joking with a friend at work today and came up with this idea:

Concept SEGG: an enclosed multi-environment version of the Segway technology in the form of an upright egg shaped non-tandem "smart car" for commuters.

Top speed; 40 mph, weight about 1500 lbs.

Interesting, but way over the top in terms of design.

Was thinking something more like a real egg shape with wheels at the bottom; clean, compact, and strong. Maybe a retracting strut for parking...

Maybe I'll mock up the design in 3D and animate it over the xmas break...

Default For immediate release...

I just saw this press release at the official website. It seems that the Eggway will soon be the wave of the future. Who would've thunk it?

Quote:
Industry-Leading Supply Partners Assembled
To Develop Eggway™ Breakfast Transporter (BT)

MANCHESTER, NH, November 12, 2006 - The Eggway™ Breakfast Transporter (BT), the first dynamic self-balancing, electric-powered breakfast food, is the product of a groundbreaking group of leading technology partners and chefs. Eggway BT is now being evaluated to see how it can help increase breakfast nook productivity and efficiency by leading IHOPs and food service organizations, including Denny’s, Norms, and Bob’s Big Boy restaurants.

From the yolk to the whites to the shell, the Eggway BT's component parts are the products of the most innovative chefs in the transportation and restaurant fields. The technologies required to make the Eggway BT possible include contributions from many leading food companies, including Swanson’s, Campbell's, Del Monte and General Foods.

"To bring a product like the Eggway BT to market you need to have world-class supply partners with incredible vision - and we've brought together just such a team," said Dean Caymen, Eggway's chairman and the man with the technological vision behind the Breakfast Transporter. "Each of these partners played a critical role in making the Eggway Breakfast Transporter possible."

Eggway Inc. develops intelligent omelete control technology known as Eggway® Smart Scramble™. Eggway Smart Scramble provides intelligent skittle control that enables a device to monitor its cooking, control its motion and make decisions about how whether to cook over-easy, scrambled or poached.

Eggway markets a full line of Egg-White Only Eggway BTs for restaurant and home use that deliver impressive energy efficiency – equivalent to 450 calories. The company’s line of BTs offer reliable, durable breakfast solutions for all kitchen applications.

Segsby, does it look anything like my renditions (avatars) to the left? I think they are egg shaped. Don't know if they would ever weigh that much, tho, or even go that fast. Just an enclosure from the elements.

Tim, whats up with that press release? What the ....Huh? Where did that come from? Its a joke right?
Dean Caymen. Ha Ha

Just copy/pasted a press release from Inc's site, and replaced certain words, MadLibs style, lol.

I've always wanted to ask you Ken, what are those cool enclosures in your avatar? People in Seattle would love it.

They are just some of my future visual renditions I created by photoshopping the top portion of those EV vehicles and stretching and thining them to fit on top of a Segway. I was on a topic here once that Seggers wanted an enclosed version of some sort. I think it may have been from some members in Seattle. Then I added a seating version as well as an enclosed standing version. On my web page I have another version of a seated one, as well as some other versions sent in by other members. One version uses the egg body shape form on top of one of those Chariot Designs. Actually I made that first and then came up with the egg shaped ones.

My web page can be seen at:
http://geocities.com/[email protected]/ or just click on to my profile and find the link there. It has all kinds of previous mods done by Segway Chat members as well. It is a bit dated, I need to update it with some newer pics and images of the new i2 and x2.

I would love to try to make some of these renditions and ones I haven't mentioned yet. But the problem is I don't have a Segway yet, to design them to specs with. Its a real bummer sometimes. I can't come up with the money to get one, because I live day to day financially and my wife could never see me spending 5 grand or so on one where we have more important needs to fill first. Know what I mean? One day I will have one when the price really comes down or my income improves greatly. But its still fun coming up with these ideas.
