Default Infokey won't hold time and date

When I set the time and date on my info key it takes the new settings and holds them as long as I don't power on the Segway x2. When I try to power on the info reverts to 12:00 and date 1/1/2006 on the first press and does not turn on the segway. When I press again it powers on . And powers on normally if I leave the time and date 12:00 and 1/1/2006. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Happens when the battery in the infokey is low.

In my experience, the InfoKey doesn't keep the time and constantly "resets" even with a full battery. When the battery is close to new, this tends to happen most frequently when the key has lost connection to the Segway and attempts to reconnect unsuccessfully (by pressing the power button). I don't use the OEM control rod and keep the key on my wrist most of the time. It always looses connection, even while riding. This experience is consistent over 3x Gen 2 devices. I really wish they didn't bother with putting a clock on the key. It's so annoying to constantly have my key tell me it's 2006!
