New Computer
I have a new laptop computer, and am trying to update this ole' dinosaur's ways...
I stopped using AOL as my browser after about 15 years and started using explorer. I liked some of the features. It was suggested to me that I use FireFox instead. I am using that now... Any input? I like having the online spell check that was in my explorer version on this vista OS from Microsoft, but I seem to have a spell checker of some sort on Firefox as well, I just do not know how to use it. Any ideas? Any other suggestions for my fairly aware and full of holes kind of knowledge about these things?

I am at work, and using the explorer in the NT machine I have here (thru dialup from client to VPN to Itranet to Internet) but I will check it out when I get home. Thanks for the path... I believe I found it last night, and it is on, but I am spoiled, and it only highlights words it does not like, it does not offer corrections... yet.

Safari web browser
Another good alternative to IE is Safari by apple. Its a free download like all the others. I couldn't tell you why its any better or worse than FireFox because I do not use it - I started using Safari back in my iMac days and just got used to it, and its now available for PC as well as apples. If your new laptop is Linux (don't laugh - alot of people are moving to it because its free and it looks more or less like windows) I would use IceWeasel as a browser.

Thanks Bill and JohnM.
I will try the Right button when I get home. I am on that company computer thru thru thru weird connections now, and will have to live without my spell check while here... At home, I will try JohnM's suggestion. I tried all that I thought of, but do not recall if I tried the right button. (I think I did) JR, the whole reason for this thread is because I spell so poorly, and I dislike advertising it to the world. For a few days, my new laptop was spell checking this forum and any other thing I typed, but I have not found the "automatic spell check before transmit" button yet, like I set all my email programs to. Bill, Sorry, I am barely literate in PC language, and do not know nor have a desire to learn about Apple stuff... Also, whenever I get too involved with apple folks, my politics usually sets me into their negativism, and I just do not care to debate endlessly about that. I choose to debate endlessly about what I choose to debate on, not what I am forced into... For the record, the PC is a Toshiba, nice screen, and a Microsoft Vista operating system. I thought I had mentioned that... Sorry. I know I just bunched a whole lot of people into one group, in saying that apple (mac?) people are more liberal than me, but it has been my experience as a whole. Notable exceptions do exist. I do thank everyone for this great response, however... It has been very helpful.
