Default Street legal...

Check this out...

A Freecross, cross trainer tricycle.

According to the article, 'The Freecross is licensed for road use'! This contraption (indeed) doesn't look safe, meanwhile the Brits (and some other bureaucrats worldwide) won't allow Segway HT's on the sidewalks let alone the roads. Isn't there something wrong with the way Segways are marketed?

I think if there were more Segway owners the laws would be more favorable. As a tiny minority we have almost no political influence.

The cross trainer tricycle is really strange but because it's a lot like a bicycle the same laws would apply.

Looks like it will go faster than a Segway in some situations, yet no helmets are worn. Hmmm.

No political influence? That may be true in a handfull of locations, but the favorable Segway laws in 43 states and the District of Columbia didn't just magically appeared.

Anyway, the Freecross reminds me of the equally impractical Treadmill Bike.

That is a tough call to make. Could go either way.

Ya, I guess it could.

Either way a person would be walking, but the other one is also like going up stairs.
It seems that the treadmill bike would be less effort, though.
