Default see jack remove video...

so from what i understand jack the owner of the rental place (with optional safety video and the 15 minute training) in vancouver is demanding that andrew take the video down. if you go to the link now, it's not up any longer.

http://m3mm.com/SegwayCrash.wmv

here's the place:
http://www.fhtsc.com/

that's a bummer.

-i think jack is a crappy instructor and he didn't do a good job at all based on what i've seen.

-he is the one who instructed these folks, if he doesn't like the results of his own actions, i think that's too bad.

-i don't think andrew did anything wrong at all. in fact, he did everything he was TOLD TO DO!

-people can and will fall off segway hts. especially when they're told to (like jack basically told andrew to in my opinion).

i guess jack reads this site, it would be cool if jack would chime in?

i'm gonna send him a note, see what he thinks.

cheers,
pt

I have a copy on my computer.

I think it shows that Jack is a bit worried about the public seeing his operation in action.

I don't think it was Andrew's fault either, anyone might have done exactly that, as instructed.

I second the request to upload your copy Bruce. I don't give a hoot about "Jack... a_s", I want to study the 'By the numbers' action.

One way..... SEGWAY ! !

I think we should put it up too. It's a good cautionary video of what happens when you lean on the handle bar... Also, how not to instruct a Segway course.

hubbah-

yah--i think jack 100% doesn't want anyone to see this video ;-]

i also think jack fears for his biz, when you have people posting on web sites that they didn't see any safety video, that training is 15 minutes...and then you let folks loose with the yellow key in a town and you see this video, well...i'm sure jack is kinda worried.

i emailed him and invited him here, i hope he does. i bet he will not though.

cheers,

I notice that there is a Legal Issues topic on "Jack"'s business Web site. One legal issue not covered is that all of his photos are S T O L E N.

maybe it's a NAFTA thing...? :^)

check it out:
http://www.fhtsc.com/page8.html

i think some rental companies are going to pull this and think they don't need insurance..."sign this, so nothing ever no matter what is our fault". even if our trainer doesn't show a safety video, trains for 15 minutes and teaches aggressive techniques.

it doesn't work that way, wait until something does happen and someone renting the ht for $20 doesn't have any assets. they'll go after the rental place and segway.

this is bad, bad, bad.

for you folks who live in canada, i urge you to write jack and express concerns about all this. it's not too late, but the clock -is- ticking, loudly.

cheers,
pt
