Default Model/Serial Number Prefix Cross Reference List

I'm looking for a model/serial number prefix cross reference list.

Example:

i167 - serial number begins with 032?
e167 - serial number begins with 042?
i170 - serial number begins with 052?
i180
XT
GT
P133

i2
x2
x2G

Any help is appreciated to be able to identify the model by the serial number prefix.

Post i 180

The Segway support people told me that the first four digits of the serial number are the year and then the week of manufacture. So an i180 which was released in March of 2005 and discontinued in August of 2006 should have serial numbers with prefixes from 0509 through 0630 (approximately).

So if you apply this to the other models you should be able to come up with a serial number range for them.

OK, perhaps it wasn't clear. According to the Segway Wiki the dates on which the various models were available are:

i167 March 2003 to October 2004
e167 June 2003 to January 2005
p133 October 2003 to June 2006
i170 June 2004 to March 2005
i180 March 2005 to August 2006
XT March 2005 to August 2006
GT March 2005 to August 2006
i2 August 2006 to present
X2 August 2006 to present

And according to the tech support people the first part of a serial number gives the day and week the model was manufactured on. So for example, if it starts with 0734 (year 2007, week 34) you know you it's an i2 or x2 made about September last year.

Because some of the models were produced at the same time (p133, i180, XT, GT) you can't always tell which model it is. But you can tell which it
ISN'T. For example, 0510 (Year 2005, week 10) is either a p133 or an i170.
And this is only roughly accurate because the actual production dates would tend to start before and finish before the availability dates. So you might find on the first i180's was actually manufactured late in February 2005.

Bentbiker, I'm curious as to what the fourth digit of the serial number on your i2 is. I have an i180 with a serial of 0622. It must have been one of the last i180's and yours one of the very first i2's.

Yup. I got one of the very first units. The fourth digit is a 3, so I think that means yours was built the last week of May and mine was the first week in June. It also illustrates your point about INC starting production well before the announcement dates.

Wow. Only a week apart. Interesting. There you are, DarthSegVator, unless they had two production lines running (unlikely, I think), this means the switch over date from Gen 1 to Gen 2 production was between 0622 and 0623, around June 1, 2006. Also the lead time for them to manufacture product for a new model appears to be about two months.

Well, bentbiker, I've got one of the last week's i180's and you've got one of the first week of i2's. That should add at least $0.50 to the selling price when we decide to sell them, don't you think.......?
