iGLIDE
Well, it's a judgement call, I'm going to post this here:
Independence Technology now has a "manual assist" wheelchair called the iGLIDE. www.indetech.com Kamen's involvement? SegCenter.com (coming soon) . . .SegCentric. . . A Balanced Approach (tm) www.StirlingInfo.com www.a-zDictionary.com |

The DekaResearch site has this note:
Although the IBOTâ„¢ was invented and developed at DEKA, Independence Technology, a division of Johnson & Johnson, will be marketing and selling the IBOTâ„¢. Please consult their website, www.indetech.com for questions regarding price and availability. Perhaps the iGlide is just another model? |

Those are great videos on their site.
Check out the american site for Independence Technology to see the iGlide in action. It doesn't look like DeKA Technology at all, but merely a logical extension on power-assisted machines. This is like power-steering applied to wheelchair wheels. Another wonderful technology from Johnson&Johnson. See the European Independence Technology site to watch iBot footage. -Bruce Wright Segway: Vehicle of Dream |

Guys, this is a very cool device (and a good thread), but it's looking like this is not only non-Segway related ... but non-Kamen related. So I'm moving it to the science and technology forum. I appreciate your understanding.
