Dean's Latest Invention
"Dean Kamen showed a short video of an artificial arm he and his team designed in 13 months at the request of the Department of Defense. The arm can scratch a nose, pick up a pen, and perform other delicate actions."
Linked article from the BoingBoing Post above. -Sal P.S. Lest you think the video was online... TED should have their speeches online shortly after the conference is over. For the uninitiated TED is a wonderful forward-thinking conglomerate of minds. P.P.S. Here's a I could find... I hope a professionally done one will be available soon. Wow, that's great. I watched it through, and at the end he was also talking about one of Dean's new inventions for DOD called a Super Jumper that can take a solder from ground level to the top of a 4 or 5 story building in about a second or so. Can't wait to see that video. I guess it's Colbert's nature, but he was sort of an butt (this program doesn't let you spell ***) in the interview. However he did highlight several of Dean's inventions which was good.

Dean spoke of that jumper and the arm inventions, as well as others at the last segfest in October, in LA.
These are some great advances. These are truely inspiring times.
