Yes, I had forgotten about that. I plead that it's the same concept, but different availability. The chair isn't commercially available, the SUV conversion is apparently being done here, and the RC model was out last Christmas. (according to a RS I recently visited, their explanation why it wasn't in stock)

The people leaving comments on the chair on the gizmodo site were giving gizmodo a hard time because they put that article up a year previously.

Edit: Looking closely at the photos, the chair may be using the MattTracks LiteFoot ATV model:
