Also, Roc Maverick (approaching middle age now) has trouble keeping up during our regular 5 mile jaunts; whereas, before, Trigger couldn't keep up with Roc even early on into the glide.

Job well done MTO. Thanks.
I am glad to hear everything is working well for you. Thanks!!

That's awesome.

I love:

The maneuverability as well as its #1 unique feature that I've not seen in any alternative transportation machine. That's the ability glide slowly without much momentum.

Traveling along the Hudson River in NYC and looking at the water.

The ability to go up and down steep heels effortlessly, enjoying places I'd never go by foot and couldn't comfortably via skates, a bike, etc.

Default Gliding up/down the Hudson . . .

Now that, Gliding along the Hudson, is what I would call an experience. It must be beautiful and different during the many various seasons of NY.

Wow, would like to do that.

Favorite things:
  • In spite of the naysayers, I find the i2 continues to be as relevant and useful as ever for my purposes. Yes, in theory it could be a bit lighter and faster to charge, but neither of these presents much of an issue in practice. For me it is still my favorite "last mile(s)" tool, which I will usually grab before my bikes or kick-scooter.
  • After close to 10 years, it still hasn't lost its magic for me, while so many other devices have. I still look forward to each trip on it, and still marvel at what it can do and how it does it. This enduring nature of it is probably my favorite thing.

Pete, your comment is so true. Greater interests have been lost in much less time. And, "I still look forward to each trip" as well; sometimes even making them up just to enjoy the freedom, the immersion you get with one's surroundings and nature while on a Glide.

I had a conservation department head tell me that she could see allowing Segs as transportation , but she was dubious about allowing them on nature trails!

Gliding in DC among the cherry blossoms on a beautiful sunny day yesterday was very nice.

I agree, Pete.

I unfortunately have to consider an electric scooter instead for practical reasons (keeping the Segway -- just not using it), and I know there's no way I'll enjoy it like gliding. It's a unique feeling. I miss it.

It really is nice on a sunny day when the boats are out. And now that the trail has been extended, you can go from the bottom of Manhattan much further up, enjoying boats, veering out on the docks, seeing landmarks and rolling around hills in the parks.

Two concerns though:

1. I did run across an unexpected, unguarded cliff in the newly developed area.

2. Last year, some criminals were trapping bikers with invisible wires and robbing them. But that was a one-time thing. It's not common in my area.
