Default Gen 1 keys

To all those that have any Gen 1 Segways with 3 keys. Do not let ANYTHING happen to your original keys. I called around everywhere in the USA that could possibly program a set of them and was told that there is currently no one able to program a set. Segway does not support Gen 1 machines and nobody has the programming codes or equipment. There are some individuals I was told, that have the ability to do it but they are nearly impossible to track down. I have an i167 that has a non original set of keys and no factory code. It looks like it’s going to be a very expensive boat anchor. I sure hope this dilemma can be resolved..

Hi

I may be able to assist you.

1
I have the technical capability to create and to edit gen 1 keys.

2
HOWEVER to do this I do need to know your keycode.
There are 4 ways this can be known;
a - It was printed on a piece of paper that came with the machine.
b - it can be read back from any working key.
c - in the past, Segway would provide this to bona fide owners ( but this may no longer be the case )
d - some Segway dealers kept records of the machines they originally sold ( we did, and still have records for Australian machines ).

So if you can meet any one of these keycode criteria, we can assist you.

Kind regards
Michael

PS
I just read your other post.
If none of the 4 options above, are possible, then maybe try this;
Post your machine's serial number and hope that somebody out there might have your info.

( serial number is/was on a sticker at the rear of the base, and also engraved into the chassis under the battery ( so remove battery )).

I appreciate your response. Unfortunately i don’t have the manual, an original key, or the key code. I do have a set of keys but they need programming. Segway no longer supports any Gen 1 machine nor do any Segway dealers. I made quite a few phone calls to no avail. I feel confident i can resurrect the dead battery packs on my machine which is a major obstacle, but the keys are another story. I have a beautiful i167 that may as well be a rather large unwieldy paperweight. I will post my machine’s serial number in hope of a Segway miracle.

Hi

I now understand that Philip, the original Segway New Zealand dealer may be able to assist you.

If you can retrieve your KEYCODE, then I can assist you to create keys.
