Issue: Reduced Infokey radio range
Hi
I have i2, bought is used. The range in which infokey works is reduced to just about one foot. I tried both infokeys, with different batteries. I did check the antenna under the rubberized console cover - if I remove it then it won't wake up at all. Tried to replace antenna with a wire of increased length - no changes. Any suggestions? |

I know you tried with different batteries, but to be clear, you tried with brand new batteries?

Batteries were new.
Another battery was extracted from working infokey from another Segway. |

I’ve bought many new batteries from stores and internet and about 1/2 of them were no good. I built a tester (a 3v flashlight bulb with wires soldered to ends) and test each battery. Clearly there is a difference, I think if you search posts for info you can find the brand that is best. No trouble since then.

I took 2 AA batteries, they made 3.7v together. Powered infokey from them - no change.

Radio Board needs replacement. It has to be programmed by Segway to the SN of the unit.
