Default Ninebot Max doesn't like the cold???

So I bought a Ninebot Max last week because I got tired of talking the 9 blocks from where I have to park to the building I work in. Yesterday I loaded the scooter in the back seat of my truck, headed to work and rode in on the scooter. It was fantastic. Last night I left the scooter in the back seat of my truck and when I pulled it out this morning it was a not a happy scooter. The red key was flashing even though the scooter was not locked and there was no power to the wheel. When I connected the app it told me that scooters temp was 11k degrees but other than that everything looked fine. I decided to try and coast to work since it's downhill most of the way and about half way there the throttle began to work. I'm thinking the cold temps may have something to do with it. It was 17f degrees here last night and 28f when I parked my truck. Anyone experience this or know that the Max doesn't like the cold? It's only a week old so if it needs to go back I would like to know now.
