Talking Hello from Chico, CA!

Perspective owner looking to bring what I believe will be the first Segway to Chico CA. Took a tour in San Fran that was awesome and I find I love the technology and what it can do.

Have to admit I do have a good bike, and Chico is a biking town, but summer's get into the 100's here, so it can be pretty bad. Planning on using it to commute to work - about 5 mi each way. Save some gas and wear/tear on my 150k mile car. Not to mention carbon in the air!

Heading down to the dealership near Sacramento tomorrow to check out a model and maybe pull the trigger (or boot the Seg?).

Hope to chat more here soon!

A bike and a Segway can coexist nicely in the same garage. Most cyclists don't want to go to the trouble of putting on the cycling clothes and shoes just to run an errand, but you won't have any problem jumping on a Segway. As you mention, it is tough commuting in the heat of summer on a bike.

Have it, love it, am riding it around already! Bought mine from Segway of Sacramento - great dealership. Will probably write a review later as I saw the dealer review section. Got a good commuter package w/ 5w LED and cargo kit as well so I can make grocery runs.

Want to run by the local police dept with the federal law and get their take on it, as well as just a heads up that there is one in Chico now. Maybe have their blessing of where/when it's ok to use. Always helps when you say 'hi' to the local law enforcement beforehand I think .

Welcome to the chat! I assume your silence means you've charged your new Segway, read the Getting Started guide, and are serenely gliding around Chico, raising eyebrows and making new friends.

I look forward to seeing you become part of this community!
