Portable ramp ... lightweight
I am looking for a portable ramp to take on airline trips that is lightweight.
Searching around old posts yields heavy duty ones, and they are pricey. Has anyone found a source that is made for a couple hundred pounds and is about 6 feet long in telescoping sections with a wide enough track for Segways. I have my own home made wood ramps and for travels have relied on help but I want a better plan for upcoming travels. Thanks!

Thanks for the lead.
After some more looking around, I found a good price at this: http://www.allegromedical.com/browse...rchPhrase=ramp and today was free shipping The 5 foot telescoping ramp looks to do the job, and is lighter than Segway's own...plus appears more portable. I do see the same ramp was mentioned back in 2007-8 here at the forum, but the web site I bought from had a better deal.

I have the Segway ramps but the rubber coating on the contact points has mostly shredded away in less than two years. Otherwise they had worked well. A friend made me a mini wooden ramp to make it easier to unload over the lip of the back end of my small Subaru Impreza.

I had the same type of wheelchair ramps for my Segway, and they worked great. You may have to file the edges of the sliding sections so they don't gouge your finger. I cut a piece of pvc pipe to use as a gauge for the width of the ramps, and keep it in the bag with the ramps.
