Segway P133 Broken Left Handle bar

Hi.

I got my Segway P133 back in 2004. Tonight I had the left handle bar with the turn mechanism break off the unit. The entire handle broke off.

Since this is a first generation Segway and no longer made, does anyone have any ideas about how to repair the unit? Since the handle bar broke off, I think the sensor etc. will be affected.

I would appreciate any advice.

It's not easily repairable.

The 'good' news is that (almost** ) any i167, i170, i180, XT or p133 handlebar will fit.
The 'bad' news is that they are all expensive.

There was somebody up in Vermont, who took apart broken handlebars and fitted the internal into tougher ( but not quite so sleek ) new handlebar assemblies.
If you search here you may find them.

The very early p133 / i167 units had a Hypertronics connector set.
Later p133 and all i170+ units had Elcon connector sets.
