Haha. Or, just take a minute break, take some photos of the sights,...then continue riding it. Arriving back at the Miata and throwing it in the trunk.

When I had a Miata, I couldn't carry much more than a toothbrush in the trunk!

My Miata's spare tire has been on the top shelf in my garage for the past 18 years, just for that reason

Segway minipro's are tiny. Though not really toothbrush tiny. Fortunately the control bar is quick release.

Quick release for those days when you want to leave it off and let the Segway take you where it wants. Adventure awaits

Mount a luggage rack on the trunk and put the spare on there? I would be hideous but functional...

Actually, my 1994 R package Miata came with both the rear spoiler (which all R package cars had) *and* the trunk luggage rack option . . . . . which was pretty hideous even without the spare tied on it - I could post a photo if you're having trouble picturing how bad that looked

2 or 3 years after I bought it, I found a trunk deck with the spoiler from a wreck which was the same color as my car and I swapped it out. I guess I could have drilled out the pop rivets to remove the factory rack and weld up the holes and repaint the trunk lid, but getting a 'new' one was much easier

I've never once needed the spare tire in all that time. Our electric cars don't even have a spare - Just a tire plugger kit and a little air compressor. Never needed to use those either, knock wood

My current Mini Cooper came with run flat tires.
