Best Mini for Commuting
I’ve just been given the opportunity (read - i got rear ended and the other insurance totaled my car) to use public transportation to get to work. About 4 of my 8 mile trip would be done via a Segway (the other half via light rail).
I’m currently looking at the Ninebot S and Plus devices and wanted to know if there were any compelling reasons to go one way or the other with solution? What are folks who commute using (I’m looking at about 30-40 miles of travel per week). Thanks! Joe Hansen, Mesa, AZ |

The S is a little more fun to ride (like a sports car) while the Plus is more comfortable (like a sedan).
For a daily commute I'd recommend the Plus. With larger wheels, more powerful motors and more area for your feet to stand on, the Plus will give you a slightly faster, noticeable more comfortable and overall a less stressful journey to work each day. I say less stressful because you can navigate bigger bumps and curbs with ease (thanks to larger wheels and more powerful motors). For these reasons it is more forgiving, over-all, should you not be paying attention. That said, if you are a lighter person, then perhaps the S will be just as good for you. Philip

I was looking at the Segway site over the weekend and am a bit confused between the descriptions of the current models, particularly the Mini-Pro. They are listing it with a higher top speed and range (11mph / 18 mi range vs. 10 / 12.5 I’ve seen elsewhere). Are there two versions of the Pro now?
