x2 tires
is it possible to mount the big mushy tires on any segway ??

Yes, but you will need hub-adapters and fenders/cargo-frames as well.
If you're a gen1 owner, you need the XT hub-adapters, and for gen2 you need the x2 hub-adapters.

It voids any warranty and you would be running software that is inappropriate for the tires (so performance suffers).
Have you just tried reducing the pressure in an i2 down to 8-10 pounds? I'm told it gives a similar "mushy" ride and similar reduced range.
