Default Temperature limitations

Discovered stick shaker! Cold last night: 30 F, warmed to about 40 F, rode for short distance of about 100 feet, warning triangle, neutral face then frowning face and stick shaker. Batteries were full charge so concluded the batteries were still too cold. Seg X2 smarter than the rider!

Well, the problem is only remotely related to temperature. Turns out there is a difference in battery voltages that is aggravated by lower temps. The code said to replace the Power Unit. This would have been a needless expense. So neither Segway nor more experienced people here, dealers as well could diagnose this. Also found a difference of opinion about leaving on charge continuously. Will advise when I find some other answers on batteries.

Try turning on your machine on those cold days.
Put it in balance mode, and leave it leaning against a wall for a while ( 20 -30 minutes ).
The small drain on the batteries will warm them nicely, and they should yield better performance.

If no better, there is another issue at play.

I took your suggestion and put leaning into the wall ran it until it turned itself off. Plugged in the cord and it is now charging nicely. Will post results after charge is finished or what ever happens.
