Dan, I really want to apologize to YOU. I genuinely liked the picture you shared with us and the comment I made was not intended to be loaded to start a debate. I'm sorry for my part in taking this thread off topic (if there is such a thing on this site

Bob, I respect you a great deal. When I watch your interactions with others wherein they disagree with you, I've found the other party simply didn't understand what you meant. I do understand your point that the stock tire is generally good enough for everyone. I do disagree with you that the softer compound doesn't offer better traction in warm, dry weather, if that is what you were saying before. Either way, I apologize for making assumptions about the way you use your Segway, and please know that I DO appreciate your perspective.

Karl, you are the little dog that barks the loudest and considers everything to be a threat. Chill out, and please understand that demands entered into an electronic BBS mean less than the bits used to store them. I'm sorry that I engaged you when you picked apart my comment about Dan's picture. I should have ignored you until your handler came and got you.

Apology accepted. But I think you could have shown more restraint with my home boys, son. I'm surprised John hasn't locked down this thread by now.

Anyway, my original intent was to share a tweet from Segway of Ireland. What a beautiful and colorful country and culture the Irish have! Our respective countries have much invested each in the other's cultures, especially over the last two centuries or so. I suppose they also love doing almost anything the British AREN'T doing, as well!

Bark, bark, bark. My handlers say you should be eating your own boot by now. Nice change up.

Have a nice day.

No, not to worry, it wasn't what I was saying. I was saying you'd not often reach the lower traction limit of the stock tire, over a wide range of scenarios.

But definitely not all of them.

For many of those scenarios, an x2 may be a better choice, though, if the extra width, etc. aren't a problem.

More traction is not the only consideration. A tire with super-traction, and only lasts 100 miles, most people would not consider better, to use an absurd example purely for illustrative purposes.

Obviously, we can't have infinite voltage, or the universe would tear itself to shreds, and we wouldn't be discussing Segways.

Jeez, read through some of the snarky comments on the linked-to article on the Facebook page and you'll see "Segway idiocy" is alive and well in the Emerald Isle!

It's unfortunate those that see them as positive don't take the time to post their thoughts but not much you can do about it.
