Yes... I was not restrictive in whom I feel should be treated with respect.

As Bob says, treating people with respect is not the same as agreeing with them.

There are many respectable and honorable people who believe things I do not. I know several religious people who do not feel people should marry outside their religion. Are you suggesting that the Amish in Pennsylvania do not deserve our treating them with respect? (This was just an example, I have no idea how you feel about the Amish.)

By the way, nice try. I do feel people should be treated with respect, but that does not mean I feel it is inappropriate to return the favor, and treat people as they treat me. Still, on my better days, I try not to drop to the lowest common denominator.
