Sorry if I wasn't clear, but the scooter I rented was the "normal" sit down type. It felt so cumbersome compared to my Seg. When in tight spaces (pretty much the whole day!) I was constantly worried about where the corners were and running over people's toes.
Admittedly, I enjoyed being able to sit since it was an all day excursion but still would preferred to have my Segway!

This is because a segway can indeed make it easier to get from point a to point b than walking for a large portion of the population... While kids may like the idea of a segway, I believe that there are large amounts of kids who attend Disney with parents or grandparents... They attend a certain number of riders per person, and move thru the park at a certain rate. I am sure the Disney people know how many average miles or average distance traveled within the park each individual makes... If you introduce segways, a convenient conveyance without a stigma, you will increase the distance, and reduce the fatigue that the older patrons experience. The kids will want to go faster and see more anyway. The result would be less profit to Disney. They would sell less cold drinks, they would run their attractions more times per visitor. The adults would be less tired, and use the excuse of the shops to hide and rest less. End result would be a happier and more efficient patron population, and a less profitable corporation... This is all conjecture on my part, but that does not do much to make me think I am wrong. I have invented in my mind many answers to many questions...

I see exactly what you mean but isn't that already sort of proven false due to the fact they already rent out power scooters? Also if you think there is no stigma to segways you might be deluding yourself. It's not the same stigma as a wheelchair, but it is there.

I know for a fact that there is no stigma to riding my segway, for me... I will not speak to how you feel. This is the point... If you see a person in an electric wheel chair, how often to people ask if they can try... (any person, able bodied or not) If you see a person on a segway, how often do they get asked? Quite often actually... There is nothing proven with the rascal kind of scooters, as they are already a fairly known property, and most do not envy the riders... A segway in a crowd would appeal to far more folks than a wheelchair, or an obvious power chair or obvious handicapped scooter... I feel there are a large number of tired people who would never consider a mobility scooter or wheel chair, but would feel better on the same item they say the mall cop on... To me, this consideration is not proven at all, but I am guessing to Disney, it is... It is too much risk to their bottom dollar.
