Default fault code E406 ???

Hi, I have two 2016 X2se segways that I bought dead, I revived three batteries but one has since failed, one is away being refurbished with some new cells,

latest issue is N0.2 seg has fault code E406 CU A MOTOR DRIVE AMP OVERCURRENT FAULT it did have this when I first got it going, with this code if starts to boot up with a smile but within two seconds it shows an unhappy face and shuts down, can this be reset and if so who has the equipment in the UK, near to London if possible?

so used my two good batteries on N0.1 seg but this one seems to have a charging fault where the green light will not go to flashing and when I fired it up the battery indicator showed only two bars when it showed a full house before I charged it, I may need a charger, does anyone have a spare?

at the moment I am charging the batteries on one machine and then swop them to the running machine, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Default Making one good PT out of two half-good PTs

It sounds like you can make one good PT out of your two half-good PTs for possibly as little as no cost other than you time.

The unit with E406 probably requires a new CU Board, which will require sending it to a Segway Service Agent capable of doing Level 3 & 4 service.

The unit that won't charge only needs to have its bad charger component swapped out and have the good one installed (from the E406 unit). You will also need to swap the radio boards. All of these parts are quite accessable, and a Segway Service agent trained to Level 2 service can do this for you. There are people on this list who might be so kind to explain step by step you how to do this in detail, if you were so inclined.

That would give you one perfectly good machine, at least until you get your 3rd battery back. What to do after that point depends upon your access to a local/region service agent doing Level 3 & 4 and associated repair costs.

Regards
Philip

Default repairs

yup what I thought, the CU board is in the main chassis? does anyone know if the SE uses a different board to the earlier X2, and is it different to the road model? I understand the X2 uses different software to the road model,

so to recap does the CU board and charger need to come from an X2 SE or will parts from other versions work?

I am a retired BMW mechanic and once rebuilt a Cessna 172 that I flew for 20 years, so am quite handy on the spanners, can do it myself provided I don't need to plug it into a computer,

Segways are quite rare in the UK as they are generally not allowed in public places or on roads and footpaths, often ignored!

Default charger

the charging issue seems to have resolved itself by changing the batteries around, now have green flashing lights and full house on the info key, just the E406 code CU board issue to sort out,
