Great, thanks Pete! Is that a Segway specific policy, or covered under your homeowners' insurance?

I don't have my homeowner's insurance at State Farm, and since my insurance card says "Segway" on it, I guess it's specific. I seem to remember that it's an adaptation of a recreation vehicle policy (JetSki, ATV, etc.).

My agent is Matthew Kennedy at State Farm in Costa Mesa, CA

Liberty Mutual covers mine. They cost me about $225/year each for full coverage including liability.

Default State Farm did the trick for me

I've had my Segway for about a month now. The second day I had it, I set about getting some insurance. My main concern was coverage if it was stolen.

My insurance carrier is State Farm. I called up my agent and they told me that the Segway wasn't covered under my homeowners policy. They said I needed a new policy for the Segway. The took down all of the pertinent info (model, serial number, etc.) and went off to their underwriter for a consult.

The deal they came back with was a policy that gave me what I really wanted (theft coverage) and all the normal liability coverage for just $143/year. There is a $250 deductible in case of damage or theft. I keep the insurance card in the bag on my Segway and it says under make, "Segway PT" and model, "I2". Finally the body style is 'Minibike'.

Mischief managed!
