Hello From Cincinnati
Hi all! My wife and I just bought two new Segways last week and we love them. Are there any other Cincinnati/tri-state Segwayers who'd like to get together for a glide?

Hi
I've had an I2 in Northern Ky (Florence) for about 3 years and glide almost daily from home to work. I've never seen another segway on this side of the river, but glide from florence to downtown cinti and back on the sidewalk of Dixie Highway about once a month. (I have seen a few in downtown Cinti) My favorite ride is from Aurora Indiana to Hollywood casino (in Lawrenceburg) on a beautiful Ohio river bike path. After riding around inside the magnificent casino and losing my money, I then glide back to where I parked in Aurora (about 5mi each way). They welcome segways in the casino; matter of fact, after I let some guards try mine out they bought 3 of them to help patrol the huge casino. The river ride is beautiful and a couple of old bridges are part of the ride. (click HERE) Let me know when you might like to ride with me either place. You can IM me here or email me at: bud01234atsignyahoo.com. (Substitute atsign with @) Bud Last edited by bud01234; 06-11-2012 at 04:20 PM.. Reason: added link to the river trail |

Hi Bud, Would have responded quicker but we're avid campers and were go camping since Thursday so didn't have a chance to reply. Aurora to Hollywood sounds good. Question, though, the Little Miami bike trail does not allow Segways or any "motorized" item so not sure if that trail is the same trail or if it is a different trail are you sure we're allowed on there? Will send you an offline note, too, and maybe we can make some arrangements to meet up.

Only reason I don't ride more on the trail is it's really pretty boring and not a lot to see except when you go through a town; unlike the Hollywood trail winding by the lovely ohio river and throught tunnels and over wooden bridges. If you'd like to get together, just give me a call (has to be a tuesday or thursday) and I'll set up a meeting place. We'll have a blast! 859-342-303 six. (fool those darn robots). Bud |

Hey Bud, you're right, the Little Miami Trail is no issue. I talked to the Ohio DNR and was told Segways are considered a pedestrian transporter and fall under pedestrian laws so gliding on that trail is allowed. We went yesterday and did a little bit of it in Loveland. Will call you this week or next. Oh you said Tues or Thurs, is that when to call or when you're available to glide?
