I never had that happen to a Segway even during "aggressive" gliding !! Be Big, Alan

Chills ran up my spine!
reading that article....
So Alan, tell us how you handled it in your non-segway mounted condition? That must have been quite a day for all of you. Talk about Male Bonding! Hopefully it will not be so exciting when you come up here to DC next Month!

Of course now I feel "Bullet Proof", if the SCI among other medical things did'nt kill me and now this. Time for Base Jumping........ At least nobody can blame this on a Segway. Be Big, Alan

Glad you're okay Alan! And I hope the only flames around when you're Base-jumping are wearing obsenely short skirts!

I am happy that all are okay, except maybe the insurance company...
It is gratifying to read a story about people who are not idiots. The press is most often excited to talk about the people who do stupid things and are ill prepared for what they are doing... While it is good press, I guess, to talk about people hiking in the winter in tee shirts, or getting marooned on an island with just a pocket knife and surviving, I like it better when doing the correct thing pays off. As a private pilot and skydiver, a mountain climber, backpacker, hiker and camper, it is nice to see a story about a bunch of men who went sporting with their heads on. I feel that the good outcome says a lot about the preparation, but also that these guys kept their heads, did what they had to do, and stepped up to the event like men. Good for you. Good for your choice of companionship. Thank God everything worked out well, as it should have... Now... . . . . I remember a while back that someone was trying to morph a segway with a pedal boat. I wonder if that ever was completed... The question seemed to fit...
