I purchased my 'P' at the dealership in Celebration, FL while I was near there on vacation during the first week in July, 2003. Local residents were able to purchase P's early as part of the pilot testing, but I didn't have a local address, so they held mine at the store, planning to ship it to me in a couple of weeks when they thought the P would be officially released. Unfortunately, the release kept getting put off until late September when I was finally able to take possession of the P that I had paid for a few months earlier. Like others have said, the wait was hard, but it was well worth it! The P is definitely the right model for my needs, and the Segway has vastly improved my life! Well we are now in 2006, and we still have no word on our Seg. It appears that the courier company may have lost it (stolen is probably more to the point). I don't think I can remember being more frustrated or angry. However...... on a happier note..... Tony from 'Segway Tours Australia' has been kind enough to loan us a 170 until our one finally gets re-dispatched, and reaches us. (fingers crossed). We have been having a great time.... even though we are having a heat wave in Sydney reaching 44C yesterday and high 30's again today. Thanks for all your kind words evryone... having almost as much fun reading all the posts as I am having gliding on the Seg.
Cheers.... Bill and Tash "David Copperfield could never glide like this!" |
