Default Today was a good day

Hi all,

please find my latest video, finally got myself an x2 to prove my NIMH battery modifications. https://youtu.be/iBhSWWz9VSk

Managed 8 miles today before shutdown and this is the first cycle of the batteries so they should improve with cycling.

And yes they also charge correctly on the x2..

Please let me know your thoughts, positive or negative.

Best regards

Ian

Why would you want to use NiMh batteries on a machine capable of using lithiums?

The best reason is for flying, but an x2 sure would take up alot of space on a plane.

Have been watching to see if anyone can produce a more economical battery. This is a good start. Not many riders need to go more than 8 miles I suspect.
Keep posting results...

Haha, the X2 was a poor choice but it was a non runner at the right price to prove gen2 compatability.

In truth the i2 would make a better test bed but I coudn't get one.

Yes Flightlogic! Nimh are not classed as hazmat.

Not only that, they are about half the cost of lifepo4 cells, they "DO NOT VENT WITH FLAME" no matter what you do to them, and if I use the lithium cases I think I can squeeze 10000 mA in there, yes there is a weight penalty for that capacity but it's not that much.

The one caveat is that under extreme load there is a voltage dip but that is on the edge of abuse and unlikely to ever be a problem, the segway will limit the available power anyway.

Thanks for the comments...the tests continue.
