Segway PT battery repair
had to buy two SEGWAY i2 to the surviving them from turn into the scrap.
they both did not have INFO KEY, both battery indicator leds in red 🙁. Bought one used INFOKEY from ebay and nice gentleman from Segway UK Service & Parts in Derbyshire solved me with coding it and tested both. both in perfect working order, one with 300km and 900km on the odometer. all that was left to do was fix the problem with the batteries not working. I bought a few more used non-working batteries with the aim of using their parts, unfortunately they are all in same dead condition, however, I managed to collect 4 full sets of batteries (all cell balanced to +-3.2v, total +-74.4v) and one working BMS 🙂 Running BMS allowed me to introduce myself to the SEGWAY BATTERY TESTER ARDUINE CODE. and how to wake up the BMS with the help of 12v. all not working bms have same problem. when trying to wake up with 12v (fully connected to battery pack) bms start like normaly led turn on but just for couple second, then go off. while looking for a fault on the bms pdb, I noticed that there is a short connection between the 14st and 15th legs on the XC2C64A chip. so oreder couple XC2C64A chip. reironing it and short connection between the 14st and 15th is gone, but still on same problem, wake up just for couple second 🙁. it can be a thermo sensor failure (in logical, old battery pack is some burned in it self acid, some in water) and when system start and not got any data from it or incorect data, bms system safety turn system off or something like this. attempts to find the location of the thermal sensor on the PDB were unsuccessful. after resoldering 3 chips on 3 bms bdp and after checking/testing and getting the same result, I hit a dead end. and I'm looking for help. (welcome with any help in determining the thermo sensor location) is there anyone in this community who has faced a similar situation trying to revive an old/broken battery, and what kind of experience do you have, welcome to the discussion |
