City Franchise Fees
Hey gang. Had a question for all the segway tour/rental businesses about City Franchise Fees. The city I'm looking to setting up a tour business in is looking to have us sign a franchise agreement giving them a cut of all tours. I think this has no legal basis to be enforced and was wondering if any other businesses have run into this situation with their local city?
Is anyone out there paying a franchise or tour use fees to their local city above and beyond their business license fee and taxes? |

I'd rather pay a nominal fee to the city and know they are ok with the operation of my business, than always looking over my shoulder wondering what they are thinking. Talk to your business attorney. Do other tour-related businesses have to pay a similiar fee? Good luck.
Hey, this is just one of many hurdles yet to come. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.Enjoy the ride... Tom Jacobson http://www.floridaever-glides.com |
