Default Bad weather Segway use.

Being a new Segway i180 owner, I was wondering if you are able to use it while it is raining. You know the drill- go to work in sunshine, leave work and it's a monsoon. I lean on the side of caution not to, but being a kid on the inside, it would be fun. And if you have ridden in the rain, how is it? Thanks.

Michael.

Default Like anything

If you would not walk out in it, you probably would not glide out in it.

Though many of us who were out in the monsoons that were all over SegwayFesT 2005 New Hampshire, found that a good poncho and good friends means good gliding no matter the weather!

Go out and Glide with Abandon!

I have glidden on gen 1 segways in bad weather. I have only seen the glider give up or get bested by the weather, never the glide. (People give up before the segway)

Even when having fun, eventually most will realize it is time to come in out of the rain...

An interesting mix. I wonder how many others that there are out there... I am thinking of maybe some swim shorts, with a flannel lining to keep you warm, or of course, the proverbial submarine with screen doors...

Default Getting Wet

I've been caught in the rain a few times. I keep a dollar store poncho in my bag and it works really well. The Segway doesn't seem to mind but my shoes get pretty soaked. I actually find it kind of fun!
