Default Time Only

Hello, I could use a little help.
i2 owned since 2009/10, charged up and using up till a week ago.
Ran about 16 blocks, shut off for about 20 minutes, when attempts to restart, the button had to be pushed super hard.
When shutting down, it was hard too. Since then all I’ve had is a clock on the info key. Info key battery replaced with new.
The info key shows 0000 miles. When battery is placed in key, the transmit sign at bottom lights for a split second.
The batteries both show charged, blinking green. I did remove and replace batteries, front to back and back to front. No difference.
Is the info key to blame? Or?

Try to place your infokey directly on center console where the lights are and then try to start it

Thanks for the suggestions/help.
I have tried placing the info key on the console, beside the console, with Segway plugged in, un plugged, swapped infokey battery with new, old battery.
Nothing seems to work. The Segway batteries are fully charged, flashing green.
I found that Rocky Mountain Segway can repair or reprogram the infokey so I’m going to contact them to see what the can do for me.
I also saw a post on this forum that eBay might have refurbished infokeys listed, so far I haven’t found them.

Please look down at the rider indicator lights, then press the power button.

Does the top light blink red very quickly?

Sometimes InfoKey buttons get stuck in the down position. They get dirty and the little springs in there get weak. Some people have posted how to open the InfoKey up and get things working again. It's a pain, but with the "clock only" showing, it seems likely the InfoKey is screwed up.

All 4 of the buttons should feel the same - A 'snap' when pressed in and they pop back out when released. It's very common for the power button spring to collapse and that makes the Key useless. They can be rebuilt . . . . some have opened them up and done it themselves with various degrees of success

One of the I2's we bought had a Key behaving pretty much as you describe. I sent it to a guy in Texas that I found on eBay to have it rebuilt. He told me that the springs for the keys can't be bought new anywhere - Segway doesn't sell them, even to dealers. He cannibalizes old broken Keys for the parts to rebuild Keys . . . . he has dozens (maybe more) to pick parts from. He also can reprogram a used Key to work with your machine is you give him the serial number

Vince at www.texassegway.com was the guy I used

Don,
I wish that your response had been a day sooner. I sent my key in to be checked, reprogrammed, fixed, etc.
Had I seen your post before, I would have just purchased one from Texas....
