Yes, but you will need hub-adapters and fenders/cargo-frames as well.

If you're a gen1 owner, you need the XT hub-adapters, and for gen2 you need the x2 hub-adapters.

It voids any warranty and you would be running software that is inappropriate for the tires (so performance suffers).

Have you just tried reducing the pressure in an i2 down to 8-10 pounds? I'm told it gives a similar "mushy" ride and similar reduced range.

That would bring my concern to the rims, though... The "swimming" in the tires would wear them down quickly, and the smallest jump would be able to smash the rim, if you travelled too fast...

This is definitely not recommended... You'll keep your warranty, though!

You could also get alternative tires for the i2 rim, or alternative rims with matching tires, some better than others... I don't think this voids the warranty, but ask around first.
