How to insert graphics?
I just now see the button that adds code to insert a graphic within a post. Where does that graphic file have to be? Does it have to be on a server somewhere? What's the easy way...?
Also, how big is too big, in Kbytes? What should we limit ourselves to? Thanks! Take care, R. "The best way to control your cow or sheep is to give them a large spacious meadow" - Suzuki Roshi |

How to insert a photo in a post:
1 - Make sure the photo you want to post is somewhere on the Internet. For example, perhaps there is an image from another site you want to share - or - perhaps you've already uploaded your pictures to some online photo album, accessible via the Internet. So, if the photo is already on the Internet somewhere, skip to Step 3. If the photo is only on your PC, proceed to Step 2. 2 - If the photo is only on your PC, you need to upload it first to a location accessible to everyone. Depending on which ISP (Internet Service Provider) you have, the method for getting your photo on the Internet can vary. For example, if you use AOL, you have free web space (FTP space) to upload your files to (images/web pages/documents) in order to share them with others. Go to Keyword: "My FTP Space" for more information on how to upload files to your AOL account. If you use another ISP, like Earthlink or your Verizon, for example, the method for using FTP (file transfer protocol) to upload files to you account should be described in your ISP's help section. 3 - Once the file is available on the Internet, you need to know the location or URL of the photo you want to post. Here are some examples of some valid URLs: http://www.segwaychat.com/images/sctitle.jpg - This is the URL for the SegwayChat Logo you see on every page. http://members.aol.com/username/name-of-photo.jpg - For AOL, this is the valid format for photos and files you might have uploaded to your FTP account. Just replace the username with your name and the "name-of-photo.jpg" with the exact name of the photo you uploaded. If there is a photo from another web page you want to post, go to that page and right click over the photo. Select Properties and you will see the URL for that image. Copy that URL because you'll need it for the next step. 4 - OK, at this point the photo you want to post is 1) On the Internet and 2) You know the location or URL of the photo you want to share. Now, all you have to do in order to put an image into a post on SegwayChat is to use the following 1 line of code and place it anywhere in your message where you want the photo to appear: *** MAKE SURE TO REMOVE THE SPACE INSIDE THE BRACKETS [] OTHERWISE IT WON'T WORK *** [ image] The URL of the photo you want to share goes in here [ /image] That's it! Here is an example: [ image] http://www.segwaychat.com/images/sctitle.jpg [ /image] The above code would place the SegwayChat logo in my post. [image]http://www.segwaychat.com/images/sctitle.jpg[/image] Here are a couple of threads on SegwayChat which discuss the posting of image in detail: http://www.segwaychat.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2615 http://www.segwaychat.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1927 Lastly, if you don't have a way of uploading photos to the Internet, SegwayChat can provide you will a free photo album for this purpose. Email me with a request for a photo album and I'll set you up. Please don't request an album if you already have a means of uploading photos as space is limited. Regards, Frank A.
