Default Just wanted to say hello

Wife and I have been thinking about getting two segways for the past year. She gave me a tour for my birthday and fell in love with the machine. I was already sold before I stepped up on the base. Any thing that looks that neat has got to be great. People ask about the handle, I am a folk singer from the great folk scare of the sixties. We now live here in Florida and do tours in our truck pulling a Airstream. The Segway looks like a natural accessory to our rolling menagerie. The truck and trailer are called "The Beast and The Silvertwinkie" respectfully. Haven't come up with names for the Segways yet. When we actually have them maybe we will name them. Just stopped by to say hey and this is a great forum.

Welcome Folkie!
The wife and I also fell in love with them on a tour and purchased two (one white and one black).

They are indeed great and this is a great forum (with a couple of exxceptions who shall remain nameless! )

Welcome
Bill

Welcome Folkie!

We'd love to hear about your experiences on Beast and Silvertwinkie. By the way, GREAT names!

I'm not too familiar with folk music, but being that you're from FL, and perform, what do you think of Sam Beam? (Iron and Wine) is that considered folk? What about Calexico?

Absolutely, both are; they sing and they are just folks. All Music is folk music based.

Wink Might want to re-read that one, Sal

The Beast is his truck & the Silver Twinkie is an Airstream trailer and that IS a perfect name!!!

They haven't bought their Segs yet.

Dangit! Thanks, Five-Flags! Maybe they'll decide to name their segways similarly!

Just wanted to catch up. We now are the proud owners of two cherried out i2's. Went for a glide to the post office this morning. The one thing you give up on a segway is your privacy. Everyone wants to stop and talk to you about what you are riding. Got to meet lots of neat folks and had a ball. Gotta go gotta glide.

You are right !
It's one of the understated benefits of a Segway PT.

You get to interact with the community, the people around you.
Ain't it nice ?
