Riding a Dead Battery - to Death
Thought I should share my STOOPID experience - attempting to drain the last electron out of a miniPRO battery - riding to absolute empty.
Of course the miniPRO gives ever-increasing signals, economy-mode slowing etc. We are SO used to "Dancing OFF" the miniPRO (miniPLUS) when in whatever trouble - tires still "powered". This youtube-performance Dance-Off does NOT apply with the Segway decides to POWER OFF and free-wheel. Much like standing on super-slick ICE that is only slippery in two directions. (Ever tried standing / balancing with Power OFF?) I calculate you impact the ground HARD in 0.56 seconds. Face-plant biting the pavement, or splitting the back of your melon. Do NOT ride the battery to "Zero". Besides possibly killing the rider, it's BAD for the battery. |

Challenge accepted.
No, I never ride the Segway that low on a charge as the battery would suffer. I will carry it if it gets that low and walk the rest of the way. Sprint maybe? Run like I am on fire? |

I think there is a thread here, about the lack of redundancy and thats why this happened!
For the full size X2 and i2, to drain the battery just keep it,self balancing leaning against a wall will drain it well, without any injuries. |
