Default Hi, new here

Hi, I am from the Charleston area of SC. My husband and I are looking to buy a used X2 model for him as a mobility device. He is disabled and would need a seat for the Segway. I came here hoping to gather some information from other disabled users. The first step for my husband is he needs to try a Segway with a seat, and this is a challenge since the seat is added as an option after purchase. I was thinking if I could locate someone in our area with a seat, then maybe they would let him try it first. We need to make sure it would work for him before investing the money. Would appreciate any input you may have.
Thanks.

Be aware that the x2 isn't going to do as well as a mobility device as an i2 on several fronts -- legally and maneuverability, primarily.

You'll have to weigh your own tradeoffs, of course. But the i2 will get less hassles because it is qualified as an EPAMD under various state laws, while the x2 just misses out due to width. That same difference also means you can't go quite everywhere that you could with an i2.

I presume you know what the advantages of the x2 are, so I won't cover that side of the question.

Obviously, we can't have infinite voltage, or the universe would tear itself to shreds, and we wouldn't be discussing Segways.

I have used my i2 in Charleston. I have both an i2 and an x2 I use them because of a disability. I have been using Segways for 4 years. If I had to choose between the i2 and the X2 I would go for the i2. First the tires on the i2 don't leave mark on the floor. The X2 will leave black mark on any hard surface
The X2 is to wide to drive throug many doorways. The i2 will go any place I can take my x2.
