Glad to hear you are in one piece there Matt, and with all of today's craziness in DC (major power failure downtown, fires in the subway and the politics as usual) it was just one more thing that made DC not the place to be today.

Glad to hear you back up gliding, did you ever get your wheel replaced?

And by the way, that was your third crash - how soon you forgot your first and only glide on a Gen One machine. The day that we wondered if there would ever be any little DCTenors around afterwards.
I thought I remembered that he was contemplating selling awhile back. Glad your still gliding DC.

Will, you're right, I had completely repressed the first crash I ever had. I don't characterize that one as "major" because my first instinct was not to look for a First Aid Kit. However it was still eventful. Luckily I will always be able to witness the aftermath on the video I made. (For anyone who's interested in seeing it, the crash occurs at approximately 6:00 into the video here

I did not get my wheel replaced. I never heard back from Segnation after I approved the estimate.

I am actually going to have to get the new wheel sooner rather than later. On the glide home I noticed that the left wheel (the one that had previously been damaged) became distorted in the crash, since it didn't have the structural support it once had. I glided home slowly but I won't use the Segway again until I get a new wheel.

I've take curbs before (slowly) but now I'm thinking that maybe I won't do that anymore...
