I had an Audi Coupe with around 125k miles on the clock. Everything was great apart from the auto box. I remember the Audi specialist that looked after it for me said the one thing Audi could not "perfect" was the automatic gearbox. I guess things have moved on these days.
These days I'm with Will Hopper, I'm an MB man. I think overall the German engineering is better than average. I've had a few cars over the years, including a classic American (60 T'Bird), but have to say the German cars have faired better than most. Nick |

Thanks for noticing . Well, since we're off topic, I picked it because it seems to me anyway to represent the "lazy" people we're so offten called by bikers and runners. I haven't had a chance yet to take out the small caption in photoshop and put in something more appropiate for what I'm trying to say. But since you noticed, any suggestions ????
Jim

The only thing that came to mind is "this is what resides under the spandex!"

I appreciate the help, but please try again. You'll never catch me in spandex !!! Maby t/shirt, checked shirt, ball cap, fatigues, jeans, cargo shorts, tennis shoes, no shoes, but no spandex !!! Might even have a shot gun stuck in my jeans, but no spandex !!! Just trying to be clear on that

Can you read it now? I thought the bikers and runners might like it. They think we're lazy so.....
Now they have some real fodder to chew on

German Auto Union
Here is what the "4" rings in the Audi Grill represent as sourced in Wikipedia;
Auto Union From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search 1936 Auto Union WandererAuto Union was a joint venture of four German automobile manufacturers, established in 1932 in Zwickau, Saxony, during the Great Depression. The company has evolved to present day into Audi, as an independent subsidiary of Volkswagen. The trademark of Auto Union was a symbol of four overlapping rings, symbolizing the four member companies (all four in a line, in an attempt to avoid confusion with the 5 Olympic rings). The trademarks and company names of the member companies - Horch, Audi, DKW and Wanderer - were continued; the four ring logo was used only in racing. The four ring logo of Auto Union is still a trademark, and now used by Audi. They continued to market the two-stroke engined DKW brand until 1964. Quote:

Make sure you join the Audi Club
Club membership brings you more than just the magazine and a newsletter, it brings together folks who really care about their Audis.
We have a join car show coming up in May with the Audi Club, it is always great to see some of the older vehicles, as well as the new ones. http://www.audiclubna.org/ Like the Segway club, having others that enjoy what you do really enhances the ownership experience.
