Asif,

Your two i167s look happy together.

I'm so glad that Jared was able to get you a replacement CS so soon, and hope that FedEx pays for it (and a bit for your trouble as well).

Is that my old machine that pictured with the couplings exposed? If so, I always assumed that it had metal ones since it was noisier than my i180. (I was told that early units used metal instead of plastic.)

And BTW, the kickstand is the original. In over 10 kilomiles between the i167 and i180, I never broke one.

So what was the surgery for?

Terry,

The dissected i167 is not the one i bought from you - it is my other one. However, i'm quite certain that all i167s have the plastic couplings. Also, i have always been under the impression that i180's are louder than i167s? This is not from personal experience, though.

For the record, both of my units have original un-broken kickstands.

I will let you know about fedex.

Asif

My i180 was MUCH louder than my i167 although of course you can't generalise from one machine- sounded like a food blender, especially in hot weather.

I just remember being told that the old AXICON gearboxes are much better than the new (brand?) gearboxes.

Can anyone attest to this, or attest otherwise? All i seek is the truth...

But you know how they say "They don't make `em like they used to"
