Default Minilite top speed only 8.7 mph

New owner of a minilite (well technically my 6 year) and for some reason the top speed is only 8.7. I've done the tutorial (multiple times) and the limiter is not on (it limits it to 6.2 anyways). Not sure what I can do it increase it as the app has very basic functionality and the speed section only lets me set the top speed when the limiter is active.

I noticed that the top speed it would allow was actually 9mph right after finishing the tutorial but now it's at 8.7.

Also, is there anything you can do to lessen the breaking when you hit the speed limit? For such an amazingly engineered machine the hard backwards lean and beeping is pretty jarring. Why not slowly slow it down like every other electric device does?

Check the air pressure in your tires. I think it is supposed to be 45psi. People don't notice when they lose air but notice the performance drop off as the tire goes flat.

The machine has to tilt back to force the rider back and not try to over drive the machine's reserve power. The reserve is there to maintain balance at top speed, not to go faster.

Not sure about the Minilite, but my Elite+ has a speed limiter set by default for safety until you get the hang of things. If that option's available on the Minilite, then you'll probably have to download the app to change the settings.

I think the Minilite's for children though? So the speed limiter might not be a bad idea, for safety.
