Default new or refurbished

Hi. I want to buy my husband a Segway mini pro for Christmas. Fryes Electronics has the minipro 320 for $399 but its REFURBISHED. Target has the minipro 260 for $399 new.

Any feedback? Get longer distance with 320 but its refurbished. Or brand new but only 12 miles.

Our first Segway.

I think that presents are better if it is a new product. The 12 mile range shouldn't be an issue.

My Segway (the older version) does trips across parks, across shopping centers (park once), down walking trails, and around the neighborhood. One trip or so every few days. A charge tends to last a couple of weeks with that kind of usage. To me, 12 miles sounds like plenty of distance. Your feet will get tired of tilting forward long before the battery gives out.
