iPhone vs HTC Touch
You know the comparisons are going to come. iPhone vs HTC Touch (www.htctouch.com).
I've been an HTC user for the last 5 years and their phones are both well built and well developed and I'm on the bubble. Do I buy a Touch or not? I most likely will because I'm usually an early adopter and since the iPhone won't be here for months I have to look at something else to adopt. But I'm not too excited about its look (it is no iPhone) and I really need to test it first. So, I'll go out today and look at it. I'll hold it, I'll play with it....and then I'll report what I did and how it worked (whether in real life or in demo). In the mean time, what do y'all think? Sorry, I don't remember whether you mentioned in past posts on other threads if you are or were ever a Mac user.
I've been using my iPhone for a few days now since the 29th and I would kindly admonish you to WAIT for them to reach your side of the pond. Even if you went over to the dark side of personal computing, there is yet a potential for forgiveness--that is, IF you can show some mettle and hold out for at least a personal look at the iPhone.

Dan,
While I have been an "off an on" Mac user and owned a Mac as late as 10 days ago, I am predominantly a PC / Windows user. I'm likely going to buy another Mac this month or next but it is rarely my lead machine. Steven |

As the iPhone will work with Windows as well, it just seems a shame to me that you seem so ambivalent towards an opportunity for having a bit of the Mac aesthetic (embodied in the iPhone) in your PC world.

Don't get me wrong, I want an iPhone but if I can't have an iPhone the Touch may be the fallback. Question - Aesthetically nobody can beat Apple. Their PCs are almost works of art. Why then, hasn't another vendor tried to copy the look and feel? Even their packaging leaves everybody else in the dust.... Steven |

Because their cases cost as much as the electronics, that's why nobody else has nice cases.
