Miami Metro Zoo Segway Tour
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if any of you have heard of the Segway tour that its available at Miami Metro Zoo. I tried it last week with my wife and it was awesome. I don't know how much they charge for tours in other places, but I thought that this was pretty reasonable. It was 1.5 hours for $44. They take you through most of the zoo exhibits and tell you neat stuff about the animals you see. It is a great course cause that Zoo is over 3 miles long. Does anybody know of any other good segway tours and has a good price? Please let me know. |

It's tucked away at the bottom of one of the website pages. Go right to the bottom.

The San Diego Wildlife Park also has a Segway Tour. I was there last summer to do the training for them, and its a great tour, if you're in that area, check it out.

Miami Segway Tour Info
Hey guys,
Sorry it took me so long to reply. Been kind of busy. The receipt that we got actually had the number for the miami zoo segway tours. Its 786-525-7127. That number should get you in touch with one of the tour guides there. Best of luck, enjoy! |

Segways at Oregon Zoo
A couple of months ago, my wife and I brought our Segways into the (Portland) Oregon Zoo. The folks at the gate indicated that there was no problem bringing the Segways in. However, once inside, a guard stopped us and told us that Segways are currently permitted only as a mobility device, and since we were not disabled, we would have to take out Segways out of the Zoo.
Since we donate substantial money to the zoo, I spoke with the Zoo director, who indicated that the policy is under review, and may change before summer. I suggested that one approach would be to check and record identity of anyone who brings in a Segway, so that in the event of a problem or complaint, they would know who to blame, and could put the violator on a blacklist. The director indicated that he would consider this as a possible approach. |
