Foot mat pads for comfort?????
Has anyone tried to cut and fit a pad, like carpet padding or jel pads like you can get for shoes, under the floor/foot mats on a Segway for comfort? Steve

There are sensors under the mat that are very important to the operation of the segway... I would be very careful about putting something there that may interfere with the operation of these sensors...
Most all comfort pads go on top of the gen 1 pad. There were some early pads that went on top of the gen 2 machines as well, but then the Company came up with factory comfort pads, and they are the gold standard... On gen 2, the comfort pads replace the regular pads... All this is keeping in mind that nothing should be allowed to interfere with the sensors in the platform...

Never put anything under the stock mats
The mats are designed to work with the sensors and by putting something under them it could cause it not to work the way it is suppose to.
We had a police dept who put the stock mats on top of the comfort mats - then he slid off one day and twisted his ankle and he wondered why?
