segwaychat LIVE
Love this site, love the layout, love the people, hate segwaychat LIVE.
In Safari I have to make sure I put a space after each line otherwise the last character is lost. If I type a ! or ? at the end of a line I get a 2 or a 3. The whole thing is slow and laggy. Is it just me and my computer? Can we try and find an alternative something like http://client.sigmachat.com/sc.pl?id=42600 but not that cos its crappy on the mac again. I dunno any suggestions?? Safari has known bugs with certain issues like character sets. Try using either IE or perhaps Mozilla proper doesn't have this issue.

the one I linked to works great in IE on the mac, but not so great in Safari. Been as it looks like we're all going the Safari route with IE being cancelled and all, I think whatever is used needs to work OK in both. B. |

I just tried the flash/asp room from http://www.zymotik.com/flashchat/ and it seems to work OK in safari on the mac, maybe a good candidate and could be edited by the flash gurus here have put up a version on my server at www.benjicam.com/flashchat/flashchat.html

I like it. I like the archiving feature so that you can see previous conversation. It's a good thing. <G> Works with Mozilla.

Also, there have been so many people "hacking" (although it's not too difficult) in under false usernames (including other members) that it's hard to know who is who anymore and we're having to ask personal questions privately just to establish identities Could we remove the ability to sign-in to the chat as an alternate username for now until we get a live chat without the issues?
I'd be happy to donate a little to a new chat program as well Chris |
