![]() So I picked up an i167 a little while back. Great shape, hasn't been used in years.
I was surprised to find after charging for 24 hours I could get it to power on and ride it. The problem is if I put it under a load like going up a hill, or going more than a slow crawl it immediately gives me a stick shaker and a red screen. I can power it back on with the key and the battery levels seem to be appropriate. It just very slowly over the course of a day starts to show a slow discharge of the battery. Anyway, seems like the batteries are just shot from age and lack of use. I found a video on youtube called "I got a Segway i167 for $200. Then I fixed it!" that describes rebuilding a NIMH battery pack. (Id post the link but I don't have enough posts yet.) Is this pretty much all there is to rebuilding the battery packs? Thanks for any help/insight. |
